About "The Spook Tree," by Marc Louis LeRoux

A Journey from the fantasy of childhood to the reality of adulthood.

For a boy growing up in the north extreme of Sacramento County in the 1950s, a dead tree, blackened by the 1947 Camp Kohler Fire becomes the key to the meaning of life and understanding of the world. The Spook Tree provides a trajectory into a hopeful future as a matter of personal choice.

The Spook Tree is a semi-autobiographical historical fiction via a tour of Sacramento County, California history through the eyes of a boy as his early life unfolds in the once highly attractive suburb of North Highlands. Heavy on history with notations, The Spook Tree comes with a weighty bibliography, including a few rare historical publications. The Spook Tree presents a deep review of early Sacramento City and county History and presents;

· The story of Rancho Del Paso and Old Antelope and how it was destroyed

· How World War Two created North Highlands and how it changed - "rise and fall"

· The story of Six-Toed Pete and other historical side trips

· The little known story and romance of the “Road Agent” of Mickey Free

· The History of the Hangtown Motocross Event

· A non-partican examination of history is systematically falsified for political uses and how damaging the practice is to Western Civilizaton

· The historical and philosophical view of how religion and Marxism ultimately compete for totalitarian control over all mankind, how to see through it, toward a future for those who truly love freedom.

. Exciting stategies for future engery via the emerging molten salt reactor alternative.

                Current Amazon Review by Brent S. - 5 Stars - A Good Read

"The Spook Tree is the remarkable and well researched history of an otherwise unremarkable town north of Sacramento, known as North Highlands as told by a boy growing up there. It is full of the rich history of the area going back to it's earliest beginnings, settlement and eventual development into the place where so many grew up and looked out on those vast wheat fields that eventually disappeared and were lost to the ever encroaching march of time and urban change. For those who ever lived there, this book will bring back a flood of memories, both good and bad and answer many questions that had haunted them ever since. "
